Our Philosophy
Starting operations in mid-2018, 406 Recycling provides Montana businesses, organizations, government agencies, and households with secure, convenient, and local electronics recycling. We also provide Zero Waste Event services. 406 Recycling is committed to environmental stewardship, data security, and safety. We only ship electronics to R2/RIOS or E-Steward certified facilities to ensure high environmental stewardship standards are met through the entire end-of-life recycling process. We are proud to partner with the community organizations West Mont and Family Outreach to provide supported employment opportunities.
Collection Options
- Collection Events: 406 Recycling hosts a community collection event on the last Friday of every month in partnership with and support of the Good Samaritan Thrift Store. 406 Recycling also provides community event collections across the state partnering with civic organizations and community groups.
- Collection Service: 406 Recycling provides collection services to businesses and institutions throughout Helena. Call (406) 449-6008 to get a free quote for service and schedule a pickup. Many business pickups are free depending on the materials collected. Volume discounts apply for data destruction services.
- Drop-off: Delivery of electronics for recycling and data destruction is by appointment only due to security and other operational considerations at our local warehouse.
- Statewide Shipping: Items can be securely shipped to 406 Recycling's P.O. Box for Data Destruction by arrangement. Pallets can be shipped at a rate of $100 per pallet to 406 Recycling from most Montana cities. Call for details.

Fees may apply. Most items accepted for free!
- Exceptions include CRT televisions or Rear Projection Screens ($1/diagonal inch)
- LCD screens less than 30" ($1)
- LCD screens larger than 31" ($15/per)
- Printers (Inkjet $1, Laser $5, Commercial $25)
- Clean Microwaves w/ glass tray removed ($15)
- Wood Speakers ($1/per)
- Batteries ($1/lb)
- Data Destruction Receipts (prices vary base on medium and value)
Green up your event by going Zero Waste with Recycling and Compost Collection!
Green your event by providing recycling opportunities for event-goers! We provide traditional recycling (plastic bottles and cups and aluminum cans) at Montana events large and small. We have partnered with YES Compost to provide composting as well. Our team has provided recycling at events, including Red Ants Pants (White Sulphur Springs, Mont.), Symphony Under the Stars (Helena, Mont.), and the Montana Folk Festival (Butte, Mont.). Event recycling services include, but are not limited to:
- Bin set-up
- Recycling and Compost Services during Events (i.e., emptying bins during the event, as needed)
- Bin take-down
- Signage and Messaging
- Technical Assistance
